Welfare

A number of years ago, Drs. Theo and Beverley were led by God to establish a department that would care for the needs in the community around the church. With a dedicated team of staff and volunteers, this Ministry has grown to encompass homes as far afield as Brakpan and Springs and continues to strive to help the poorest of the poor.

Our programs include the following:

  • Children’s Outreach Ministry
  • Aged Outreach Ministry
  • Widows & Widowers
  • Homeless in the Park
  • Sakisizwe Care Centre
  • Shalom Children’s Home
  • Abused Women & Children

THERE ARE MANY OTHER HOMES THAT WE VISIT AND OUR PRAYER IS THAT WE CAN FEED, CLOTHE AND MINISTER INTO THE LIVES OF MANY THOUSANDS OF HOMELESS CHILDREN, AND BRING JOY AND SALVATION TO THE AGED.

If you feel led to join our team in any of the above areas, we would be delighted to hear from you so we can invite you to one of our meetings and give you more information.

We would like to remind you that we are a registered NPO and Public Benefit Organization and, as such, all donations received are eligible for Tax concessions. Should you wish to assist financially, our Bank details are as follows:

Abused Women & Children

CFCI Welfare have a team of ladies that visit a shelter for Abused women every month. The aim of the outreach is to uplift, love and encourage these ladies to be all that God has ordained them to be. Many of them have very low self esteem and our aim is to change their perception of themselves. Care packs consisting of toiletries and other essential items are given out at these visits. We aim to make every month varied and exciting, using different methods to help them to grow in their walk with the Lord. Any ladies interested in being part of this essential ministry are welcome to join us.

Widows and Widowers

Every year Christian family Welfare department hosts special luncheon for our widows and widowers in the church, this year we are having a Spring Day Lunch on the 12th of September and I know the ladies go all out when coming to the luncheon. In 2006 we had the most amazing collection of Spring bonnets from flowers to creations that would not be out of place in the best theatres. Prizes were given for the most creative headpieces.

We turn this special day into an annual event and another opportunity to bless the widows of all ages.

Sakisizwe Care Centre

This is a day care center started by two ladies whose hearts were touched by the plight of tiny children wondering the streets during the day. They set up a temporary shelter where the children were fed and shown lots of love. The Children also receive a basic education and a bath before being taken to their guardians. Most of the children there are orphans and the only families they have are the friends and Teachers at Sakisizwe Care Centre. Christian Family Church donation two containers that are currently being used as class rooms and a kitchen.

Childrens’s Outreaches

Our Team of volunteers regularly visit different children’s homes all over Gauteng, taking food, clothing, toys and sweets. The children are not only entertained, but are ministered to and encouraged to share their thoughts and dreams. Street children are also included in these outreach programs and our Pastors often get involved in this ministry to the needy in their areas.
